At the singapore river i saw many different types of statues. There are the coolies, Sir stamford raffles, some business man were talking to each others, the big bird and some other strangely built statues. When i saw this statues i was wondering "how did our forefathers did in the past and was this statues even really what they look like in the past?" i doubted they does not even likes what they are doing. The immigrants of these statues look as if they were really very happy about trading and stuffs.Singapore is a very racial harmony country so i think in my very own thought(no offence) they look as if they were being forced to look like that. What if i was one of them in their times,i would also do the same thing in order not to get into any trouble. If i was the sculpture i would think "Why am i suffering in this hot sun? Why must be one of them under this unsheltered area? why must i be treated like this?" Because people in the olden days suffered a lot and even if the war is over they still can't live in peace.Every day some of the citizens still worry about the war to happen again. They don't believe in the government so they went through their days without peace. Actually what i really learn is that the people suffered a lot and had being through lots of difficulties so i felt that they were brave and would not ever give up no matter what happens, so this is what they have given us of this generation peace to live in so we need to learn from our forefathers to never give up. At the singapore river, there were much more sculptures but i didn't have enough time to take pictures of them all so my report ends here.
